The ‘Baby Room’ is for children 0-2 years of age.
The room provides a bright, warm environment for the initial stages in your child’s life. It has carpeted areas with fun and educational toys to help your child develop. We have a natural ‘heuristic play area’ and black and white zone.
It also has a cosy book corner, a variety of ‘physical toys’ and a ‘let’s eat’ area.
The room also has several cots, beds and prams for those ‘quieter moments’. The ratio of staff to children in this room is at least 1:3 to ensure a high level of care.
Children participate in ‘messy play’ with water and paint, as well as exploring treasure baskets and enjoying music sessions.
As we are located in such an idyllic village we also like to take the babies out for walks as well as playing with them in the ‘baby garden’.
The Baby Room also has its own nappy changing facility and toilet. Children up to 18 months old are allocated their own daily diary to take home each day, so their daily activities and progress can be monitored by the nursery and parents.
Each child also has their own ‘all about me’ file which records, amongst other things, each child’s development in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage and relevant child developmental scales.
Parents of children in the baby room are asked to provide nappies, at least one change of clothing, a comforter/dummy (if needed), baby milk and appropriate outdoor clothing such as sun hat and cream (when the sun comes out) or raincoat and hat (for the more frequent colder days!).
We ask that parents label their child’s belongings!
