Elloughton Private Nursery was established in 1988 by Kim Craven (Cert. Ed) in the former Hull Ionians clubhouse and grounds. 1995 saw the nursery move to the new Ionians ground, Brantingham Park. It is a family run business and is now led and managed by Kim’s daughter.
We are open from 7.30am-6.00pm weekdays and closed Bank Holidays.
The nursery’s professional reputation for quality care and commitment to the development of children led to an increase in demand and, henceforth, the acquisition of detached premises, and present home, Little Acorns.
This building was equipped to the highest standard to cater for the needs of those children under the age of three and provided an exceptional setting for a nursery where children could spread their wings in a clean, safe and stimulating environment.
In July 1998 planning permission was granted to extend the Little Acorns premises, which meant all the children from Brantingham Park could be transferred to the Acorns site at 88, Main Street, Elloughton.
We are registered with Ofsted. You can view our latest Ofsted report here.
Aims and ethos
We aim to provide children with the chance to grow in a ‘homely’ atmosphere that offers quality care and support to both them and their families.
The nursery provides parents with the confidence that their child will be under constant proper supervision.
The skills developed prepare each child for primary school and give them the confidence to grasp the opportunities throughout their whole life.
All staff are dedicated to the well-being of all children and have contributed to the nursery’s successful Ofsted registration for the care of children up to 11 years of age. We strive to maintain good relationships with parents, as well as their children.
We are actively engaged in the pursuit of excellence, aiming to help our children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
We aim to run all areas of the setting efficiently, providing a happy, caring, stimulating yet homely environment for all.
We strive to help children learn and develop through play, whilst adhering to current curriculum guidance and legislation.
